So then I'm thinking of running a tournament soon for the Barn and other outsiders. I know the Barn itself can't host it, BUT if we can get some help I understand that we might be able to use the hall that we've been using the past few times. So here's what I've got.

I'm thinking that the points level should be either 1000, 1250, or 1500 and that the armies must be fully painted. As in fully assembled, wysiwyg, 3 color minimum, but doesn't have to be flocked. I am also thinking that the prize should be the standard gift card. However instead of the war store I'm thinking Sad Panda Games to help support one of the locals.

Also would any of you be willing to be volunteers to help set up and tear down the event? I'm tempted to give volunteers 1 free battle point.

Let me know what you guys think before I make anything official.

For any events that anyone wants to run I am willing to use my truck to help transport any tables and terrain that need to be moved. Then since I'll already be there, I figure I might as well help set up as well.

I'd be interested for sure and I'll help setup/tear down.

While I love tournaments that require fully painted models, it often times cut's down on attendance and will bring less people out than what an no painting requirements would. WYSIWYG is of course mandatory, but I feel painting requirements aren't really needed. I liked just adding a Best Painted prize, to give people an incentive to bring models that are painted.

Needing more attendance I think is going to be needed, as we don't get the hall for free. It costs $25 to rent it for the day. So that will have to be factored in to admission fee's and prize support. While I'd love to have winners able to get product from me, it really isn't possible. I have no inventory on hand, and can't afford to place an order for only a few items. I need orders of over $400 or more to qualify for free shipping, otherwise the fee's involved in receiving only a few items are astronomical.

I've already looked into renting the hall during a Saturday in November, so we should be good then. I had intended to run a 2 person team tournament as the first one out the gate, but if Dale wants to run something he's welcome too instead if that's what people would like.

I plan on advertising all over the place to get more people in and I am pretty sure I am making this a 1250 tourney. Why 1250? We all have that much fully painted and it forces players to be a bit more picky about what the hell they plan on bringing. I want to reward strategists and tacticians, not players who use an auto win button list. Plus having 1250 painted by then would be a good head start for that escalation league. Also this is to prep people for when I plan on running a 2000 point mandatory fully painted army tourney (probably in Jan or Feb). Best painted for that will be getting a life sized servo skull made by me.

Hmm the more I think on it you running a team tournament might be a good idea to be done first. Lets me finish the servo skull I've been working on for the larger points tournament.
