The Battle Barn

I've been a devotee of Slaanesh for some years now and I finally got back into the game after a few years away. Here's the force I have amassed so far (the ones that are fully painted anyway)...

Slaanesh Lord mounted on Daemonic mount.
Exalted Champion battle standard.
2 Chaos Sorcerers.
14 Chaos warriors armed with hand weapons, shield and full command.
14 Warriors armed with halberds, shields, and full command. (Sometimes use these as chosen as they are the older Chaos models)
19 Marauders of Slaanesh armed with flails, light armor and I have shields on their back. (just in case I need to change what they are armed with.), and full command.
5 Marauder Horsemen, armed with spears, and full command.
5 Chaos Knights, hand weapons, full command.

As for the future... I'm planning on buying two more boxes of Chaos knights, a box of Chaos hounds, and a box of Ironguts that would become my Chaos Ogres (after a LOT of conversion work of course)... I'm also half way through converting a scratch-built Hell cannon. Once these are done, I will have a great force... Feel free to play with the models and see what you come up with... I have only got to play 1000pt games so far and I am REALLY looking forward to seeing what these guys can do in combat.

Does everything have the mark of slaanesh on it? Because you only mentioned the mark on the lord. Just curious. I think Pure slaanesh will do really well against 2 of the 3 power armies right now (Vamp Counts and Daemons) because you will be ignoring one of their big benefits, Fear. I think it could do well when you flesh it out. A good thing is to have a small unit of slaanesh warriors (or chosen) with Great Weapons, and go hunting monsters. Well talk more next time we are both at the barn. Im Dave, im kinda a big deal. People know me. Ask around and someone will point. Perhaps we can get a game and/or start learning 8th.

Yeh... look forward to playing against you... and Yes.. EVERYTHING has a Slaanesh mark. I kind of accidentally sold my soul to Slaanesh back in 2002 for gamesday tickets... But ever since then I have held true to my promise and Have only built armies that are Slaanesh themed... Long Story...

I was playing with the composition a bit last night (God bless army builder) and this is what I came up with

Chaos Sorcerer- Mark of Slaanesh, Lvl 2 upgrade, Warrior familiar, Biting Blade, Dispel scroll... 175pts

Chaos Sorcerer- Mark of Slaanesh, Lvl 2 upgrade, Power familiar, Dispel scroll... 175pts

14 Warriors- Mark of Slaanesh, Full command, Shields... 264pts

19 Marauders- Mark of Slaanesh, Full command, Flails, Light armour... 144pts

5 Marauder horsemen- Mark of Slaanesh, Full command, Light armour, shields, spears... 120pts

5 Chaos Knights- Mark of Slaanesh, Full command, War banner... 285pts

Well have to see how shields act in 8th, but I dont think you gain any benefit when also using a 2 handed weapon. But I also heard a counter argument to that that says you get the stock +1 armor for having the shield, but not the extra +1. Which is really kind of a "Duh!" statement, but anyways, we'll see. Another thing I notice is that your Marauder horsemen have both LA and Shields, which I believe takes away their Fast Cav status. This could be a good upgrade if you dont care about them not being Fast Cav, but again, Im not sure about that rule. What point level is this list?

yes, I did this deliberately... The fluff for my general is he was once Bretonnian and I liked the idea of "Light cavalry"... I know in lower point games they can actually cause some damage, PLUS I tend to have a habit of charging everything into combat...

So how many points is that list?

That looks like the same list he used against me, which was 2000 pts.
