Nope.

ALL models ALWAYS start on the board unless the mission says otherwise. Things would be a little broken otherwise if things could outflank or come off your table edge with the board only being 4x4

Once we get a few test games in I think we may have to consider allowing certain "unique" characters. Especially since each codex has upgrade characters that are not HQ choices, such as Scout Sgt Telion and Arjac Rockfist. Allowing these characters wouldn't break the game and you could still stay within the 175-250pt limit.

I'm certainly willing to look into it at some point. I don't know what Unique characters would break the game that aren't in the HQ slot to be honest. Luckily, these are still the BETA rules, so they could likely change after some playtesting. Maybe we'll all have to contribute our thoughts on what works/doesn't work.

I do think though, that if you do bring a Unique character, you're only allowed 1, and they count as your team leader.

Agreed. Also these unique characters wouldn't be allowed any of the special upgrades/equipment. Not even the +1W or +1A for being the team leader.

It would really help them if you post what you think worked/what didn't work, problems with rules, army composition, etc...

The more feedback we give, hopefully the more balanced things will become.
