Hello I am a new player that will have a 1000 point dwarf army and I was wondering if some one would be kinda enough to help me learn the game a bit.

I plan on being at the barn on Friday for the first time. Will that work for you? I take it you play orcs and goblins ?

Also I have my Army rule book and an old 7th edition rule book. I hope to buy the 8th soon but seeing that it is 75 Dollars I might have to wait a few weeks or so.

If you do a bit of searching, you can probably find the softcover mini rulebook to buy over the larger hardcover one. Here's an ebay auction I found

http://www.ebay.com/itm/8th-Edition-Rul ... 524wt_1396

It's the rulebook that comes in the Island of Blood starter kit. To my knowledge it contains all of the main rules for the game, and is only missing pictures and fluff information. I know many of us 40k players buy the smaller rulebook rather than spend the money on the full hardcover one.

Thank you for the link I will buy that soon wont be here of course by friday. I have battle for skull pass to start me off and has since bought other models but that explained basic rules well enough for me. The issue I have is I dont really understand magic phase( I know I really dont do magic but I can dispel). Also I am slightly confused on how my siege machines work, cannon and organ gun. I think I should be able to figure those machines though before Friday, I also understand most of the basic rule changes from 7th to 8th. I dont know what is expected from me since this is my first game but I plan on studying the rules more from now till the battle.

will do. it was fun even with the lack of movement trays to speed up the game.
Those special rules always help in games. Do you want to play another 1k game the 2nd? My friend who plays tomb kings might be coming along, possible you could play him.

Im trying to get Friday off of work so theres no gureentees yet but theres a good chance ill get it off. Tomb kings sounds like and interesting army to try and fight. Also I found to my horror that Grudge throwers are out of stock which is the dwarf anti horde unit :o Also I just read that thunderes due to there handguns having supier design have +1 to hit ... oops Turns out I made alot of mistakes

you learn the correct way to play through mistakes. So how many points would you like to play if we can?

1000 points is what I can do and now that I understand the rules better it should go alot faster. I also opened another thread about team battles for the future to see if theres interest in them.
