So here are the missions for the first of the Mini-'ment' tournaments. All missions use a tiered structure with a primary, secondary, and tertiary objective. They all use standard rulebook missions and deployment types with some minor modifications which shall be detailed below.
Tournament Missions All missions will be taken from page 91 of the Warhammer 40k rulebook with the following modifications: Seize Ground: Instead of d3+2 objectives there will always be 3 objectives. These will be represented by Red poker chips and will be pre-placed by the tournament director. One shall be in the exact center of the table, the other two shall be placed along the center line between the players table edges 12” out from the center objective. (this will create a line of objectives along the center line of the table)
Capture and Control: These will be represented by Blue poker chips and shall be placed by the player as per the rulebook with the following changes: They must be at least 9” away from any of the Seize Ground objectives (Red Poker Chips) and may not be placed within 18” of each other. If players have their own objective markers made with 40mm bases then they may use these instead of the Blue poker chips to represent their capture and control mission objectives.
Kill Points: These will be determined as per page 91 of the rulebook, however a player shall need a different amount to win based on which mission objective they are used for Primary: 3 point spread. If used as the primary objective a player must have 3 or more kill points than their opponent to win this objective. Any other result shall be a draw. Secondary: 2 point spread. If used as the secondary objective a player must have 2 or more kill points than their opponent to win this objective. Any other result shall be a draw. Tertiary: 1 point spread. If used as the tertiary objective a player must have at least one more kill point than their opponent to win this objective. Tiebreak: Victory points. In all missions victory points as described on page300 of the main rule book shall be used with the following modification: Do not round up/down to whole numbers. If a unit that is reduced to below half strength would have a ½ number for it’s VP total this is the number to be used. (example: A unit that is 107 points to start out with that is reduced to below half strength would be worth 53.5 victory points, not 53 or 54) This is to help further reduce the occurrence of draws.
Mission 1 Deployment: Pitched Battle Primary: Seize Ground (3 objective markers) Secondary: Kill Points (2 point spread) Tertiary: Capture and Control (2 objective markers) Tiebreak: Victory points.
Mission 2 Deployment: Spearhead as per the 40k rulebook with the following modification. Players may not set up within 9” of the center point of the table instead of the 12” used in the rulebook. Primary: Capture and Control (2 objective markers) Secondary: Seize Ground (3 objective Markers) Tertiary: Kill Points (1 point Spread Tiebreak: Victory Points
Mission 3 Deployment: Dawn of War Primary: Kill Points (3 point spread) Secondary: Capture and Control (2 objective markers) Tertiary: Seize Ground (3 objective markers) Tiebreak: Victory Points
If you have any questions about these feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.
