So with Ian't league ending in November, and once the holidays are done with, I started kicking around the idea of a winter league to lead us up to Adepticon. The escalation league that we did seemed enjoyable, thus I was thinking we could do that again. Perhaps with a little twist this time though. We'll divide the players up into two teams. It'll be balanced as best as possible with vets and newer players, thus the teams should be fairly evening matched.

The downside of this, is that there is no incentive to play someone on your own team. That does reduce the number of people you can get a league game in against, especially if we have a low turnout at the Barn some weekend.

With it being a lead up to Adepticon, like the previous one I did, I was considering enforcing a painting and modeling policy. Basically, all models must be fully painted and based to be used. This helps people to get their armies painted up for the big event, plus gives us more painted armies at the Barn.

I'm certainly open to other ideas and criticism, so throw it on out.

I like the idea of doing another escalation league, I had fun the last time and it did force me to build my Thunderwolf Cavalry.

I'm always in favor of enforcing painting requirements for tournaments/leagues. I think the best way to enforce a painting requirement for a friendly league is to only enforce it in the final stages. This way those who don't have a good start on painting their army when the league begins will have a large part of their army painted by the time we're finishing up the league.
