Do any of you know of other 40K gaming groups in the GR area? I am interested in seeing how many guys would be interested in an Apocalypse game in the future, or if there are some gamers closer to me (Alto/Caledonia area). Thanks,

Captain General

If we did I doubt we would admit they exist. As for your apoc game I accept your challenge. About how many points can you field?

Wow, new to the group and already a challenge. I'll take it when I get better at the rules. I just started into 40K and I'm not all that accomplished in the rules. And... I'm not sure how receptive you guys would be to a non-GW figures army. I have a IG army made up of Alpha Forge figures and home-built vehicles from a previous SiFi venture I was in with a friend who was transfered out of state. I convertered them into a GW-type IG force I call the Free Company. I wrote some "fluff" for them to place them in the 40K universe. I'd like to get to play some base games before embarking on an Apoc.

As I figure it I have around 5,000 points (+-) of IG-ish troops, including a home-built Reaver Titan .

10,000 with only one super heavy? It shall be an even fight. Free company? Most companies tend to be 200 men and under, so it's more of a battalion, but whatever. The En'Ver 1st Combined Arms Regiment will meet the challenge.

Free Company in the terms of the historical White Company of medieval fame which numbered about 5,000 .... you are on.... now .... all I have to do is learn the rules, organize my force, read the rules, finish painting bases ... learn the rules, get some practice in ... learn the rules ... I see a pattern forming here ..... :-)

Hey everyone! Come take a look at Dale's knowledge of military organization. Don't act like you're not impressed.

Oh...and Stephen. Learn the rules.

I attend Calvin and live there, and I will be back next week. I don't play 40K though, only Fantasy, are the rules super different? I can show you tactics and such that I know. Maybe the 2 of us can figure out the rules.

Well, I have read them and "played" with my figures on my table... but never played a game vs somebody. I live in Alto ... south on M37 to 100th St (Caledonia), Left (east), across the river, turn right into East Rivershore Estates, first house on the left (10050). Should take about 20-25 minutes depending on M37 traffic form Calvin area... Ph 616-891-1632... let's set somthing up. I have plenty of IG forces for two players.

In general we are pretty open to most sorts of proxy's and counts as. The main caveat being that things are consistent and generally easily identified. Conversions are always a welcome part of the hobby! In fact one of our regulars has an army made up almost entirely of monkey figurines he picked up somewhere to be counts as Jokero weapon smiths.

I would say though, that if/when we begin having tournaments again you may want to verify that it's cool with the TO (tournament organizer) beforehand just to be sure (if you're even interested in tournaments that is)

I got the "jokaero" from Binder park Zoo. $0.55 each beats the piss outta $15 each. A little paint and shazaam! Barrel of monkeys rides again. I need to get in more games with those. Perhaps next weekend.
