So I am trying to sort out what list I want to run at Adepticon. I know that I want to run a Jumper/mechanized hybrid list which utilizes the close combat ability of the furious charge, feel no pain assault marines and the speed and durability of mass predators. I wanted to get your guys thoughts on which list you liked more.

List 1

HQ
Librarian – Jump Pack, Shield of Sanguinius, Unleash Rage 125pts
Elite
2x Sanguinary Priest – Jump pack, Power Sword 180pts
Troops
10x Assault Marines – 2x Melta gun, Power Fist 235pts
10x Assault Marines – 2x Melta gun, Power Fist 235pts
10x Assault Marines – 2x Melta gun, Power Fist 235pts
5x Scouts – Sniper Rifles x5, Camo Cloaks 90pts
Fast Attack
Baal Predator – Twin-linked assault cannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons 145pts
Baal Predator – Twin-linked assault cannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons 145pts
2x Land Speeder – 2x Tyhpoon Missile launcher, 2x Heavy Bolters 180pts
Heavy Support
Predator – Auto-cannon turret, Lascannon sponsons 135pts
Predator – Auto-Cannon turret, Lascannon sponsons 135pts

List 2

HQ
Librarian – Jump Pack, Shield of Sanguinius, Unleash Rage 125pts
Elite
2x Sanguinary Priest – Jump pack, Power Sword 180pts
Troops
10x Assault Marines – 2x Melta gun, Power Fist 235pts
10x Assault Marines – 2x Melta gun, Power Fist 235pts
10x Assault Marines – 2x Melta gun, Power Fist 235pts
5x Scouts – Sniper Rifles x5, Camo Cloaks 90pts
Fast Attack
Baal Predator – Twin-linked assault cannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons, searchlight 146pts
Baal Predator – Twin-linked assault cannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons, searchlight 146pts
Attack Bike – Multi-Melta 50pts
Heavy Support
Predator – Auto-cannon turret, Lascannon sponsons, searchlight 136pts
Predator – Auto-cannon turret, Lascannon sponsons, searchlight 136pts
Predator – Auto-cannon turret, Lascannon sponsons, searchlight 136pts

So the HQ, Elites and Troops are the same in both lists. Fast and Heavy are where they differentiate from each other. In both lists the jumper element will usually be a forward pushing element designed to go engage the enemy and grab objectives. The scouts have only one real job and that is to squat on a home objective. Anything they do beyond that is a pure bonus. The rest is there to provide fire support.

List 1 has the Land speeders which can really put a hurt on enemy armor with 4 krak missiles, or can switch to their heavy bolters and frag missiles to tear apart some infantry. They give up durability to get this mobile firepower though.

List 2 regains the durability by adding a third auto-las predator, and helps out in dawn of war missions (or against Imhotek) with the inclusion of searchlights. By dropping the land speeders in favor of the 5th predator I also gain the points for a multi-melta attack bike (there's really not much else BA can do with 50 or so points!) This may hurt a little in kill point missions, but an extra multi-melta is never a bad thing. Plus I can force my opponent to a decision, waste shots on a T5 2wound (If I'm smart Feel no Pain) model, thus ignoring other threats, or let a mobile multi-melta run free.

So which do you prefer and why?

I think I like the landspeeder one myself. Yea, they are squishy, but those 4 missile launcher shots a turn can be very useful. I think that you could run them behind predators to at least get a cover save from most shooting right? Their profile doesn't sit up all that high from what I remember.

I do like the 2nd list though as well. AV 13 wall can be a bitch to deal with, especially against GK's. You run up against henchman spam w/ riflemans and this list will annoy the hell out of them. Run the assault marines behind the wall of AV 13, pop their transports and then assault to clean up the squishies inside. I think they are both pretty tough lists, and I kind of feel that it may just come down to personal preference. The 1st list might be slightly better in that you get 4 shots from the missiles instead of the 1 from the attack bike, but it's hard to tell for sure.

I personally like the Speeders as well...they're best role is against armies like orks and Nids...both of which would have a harder time than most armies doing anything to speeders too...

being able to put wounds on trygons, lootas, gants, boyz like that...the variability of use...I think it's more worth it.

Looking over both lists I think they are both good, it really matter of taste in my mind.

Personally I like the second list better for a few reasons
1 - AV 13 is hard for Str 8 to do anything against, thus long fangs and autocannon dreads are going to struggle against it.
2 - I think you will see necrons and having searchlights will be helpful
3 - Land Speeders die fast

That being said I am not a huge fan of the single attack bike as doesn't seem like it will add a lot to the army other than taking up 50pts

Jeff had an interesting idea for the second list. Instead of the MM attack bike he suggested a jump pack tech marine. I kinda like that better as it can possibly give the scouts a 2+ cover without going to ground plus he can help maintain my vehicles. It provides a bit of utility to the list. I think I'm gonna have to try all three. Though the land speeder list will be first since I already have those modeled up and painted :D

Thanks for your input guys!
