The Battle Barn

Now I know what you all are thinking. What the hell is BarnCon? It's a little something that Jeff thought up, and I wanted to get everyones thoughts and ideas. The premise is quite simple:

The weekend of September 17, 36 hours of straight gaming!! Starting at 6pm on Friday the 17th, The Barn opens up and DOES NOT CLOSE UNTIL SUNDAY!!! That's right! Gaming all night long! Grilling all night long! GAMING ON SATURDAY!!! ALL DAY LONG! What better way to celebrate the end of summer, and the 1 year anniversary of The Barn than a big massive event!

Gaming, Food, Beer! What perfect combinations. No plans for anything scheduled, but rather just open tables available for use with whatever game system is desired. Ideas for things we should do? Throw them out here! Just want to add your interest? Well throw it out here too! Jeff and I want to make sure that the weekend is well received, so let us know your thoughts!

We should resurrect some old school "party" games.
Things like:
Dreadnaught arena
6-8 player Pandemonium
Character arenas
Magic Gladiator battles
Whos the Best Special Character

Things like that. Id love to have a good old fashioned Dreadnaught arena. Ill work on finding the rules and bring them to the barn on friday.

id rock a apoc game also if theres interest

Party games sounds like an interesting idea. I like the idea of scheduled 'events' scattered throughout the period. Whether it be specified time for certain demo's, cool 'events' like Dave mentioned, or maybe a quick 3hr Apoc game at some point. Stuff like that seem's totally doable.

OH!! The much talked about tyranid assault against imperial forces held up in a fortress!!! 10,000 pts a side!!!

I am glad to see that there is a bunch of interest in BarnCon 2010. I feel like I need a logo for it.

I have been doing some thinking and I think I have a way to put a covered area outside by the light pole to accommodate a few more tables.

I agree that some scheduled events and apoc/planetstrike/city fight events would be cool.

I'm in for the Tyranids vs. Imperial apocalypse game. My Wolves only got to punk marines at the tourney so they're ready to pummel something different. I've got the Cities of Death supplement if anyone would like to try that out.

We should get something going for Warmachine/Hordes as well.

I can not attend. Take pics guys. I'll be stuck at Fort Custer then.

And people can help me build tyranids for a few hours!

The Nid apoc game will rule. Also maybe we should throw in some planetstrike/battlemissions. Looking forward to this also as much as the next AWSOME turny. Keep up the great work Brian Jeff and others that often help out Without all of you I'm sure I would of gotten bored of wargaming by now.

Also on anouther note. Is Barncon open to members only or could Jon and I bring our buddy that always works fridays and has a Necron army along?

OH HELL YES!!!!! Sounds good to me. I have some terrain I can bring. City ruins, 2 bastions, craters, ect if we need some more. I'm trying to get a few old world buildings built for Warmachine and this is just the insperation I need to finish em.. Maybe us Warmachine players should have some kind of Apoc game as well?

Hey, Ive heard interest from a couple people of trying to have a Legendary battle. We could probably do it at the same time as the Apoc Game. So we have 2 gigantic games going at the same time. That would be sweet. I think Ash would be game, Perhaps Scott too. It was Kevins idea, so we can talk more this friday.

Shoot, I may not be able to play in the Nids/imperial game, but I know that you guys wouldn't mind if I had some warhammer and went crazy on building scenery
