Brian’s List (hopefully Brian can fill out the details) Daigo Inquisitor 5x Paladins 3x Dreads 2x TLAC Psybolt ammo Strike squad 2x Interceptor squads
Terrain setup was standard NOVA style with large LOS blocking in center, two pieces of area terrain in opposing table quarters, two LOS blocking hills in opposing table quarters and 2 sandbag emplacements along center of table
Mission: Deployment – Table Quarters Primary – Scoring units in enemy deployment zone Secondary – Wounded Soldiers (moving objectives in non-deployment table quarters) Tertiary – Capture & Control We decided that wounded soldiers act as independent characters after they join units as the mission did not specify
I win the roll to go first and choose one of the table quarters with trees in it. -I made this choice to force Brian to deploy into area terrain in his deployment zone so I could shoot him
Everything deploys behind large LOS blocking terrain as far up as possible. Archon joins incubi, Haemonculi join wych squads
Brian deploys Draigo, Inquisitor, and paladins in cover
-combat drug roll of 3, +1 Str although I forgot to roll into beginning of round two, gotta remember to do that in deployment
Brian attempts to seize but fails
DE Turn 1 Incubi and Wyches move flat out with EA for average move of 31 inches toward paladins Rest of the army moves and fires, wounding a couple and killing one paladin. Draigo takes a DL to the face Brian fails leadership test and falls back 2 inches, had it been 5+ they would have been off the board)
GK Turn 1 Paladins rally and move 4 through difficult terrain allowing inquisitor to move on his own Inquisitor shoots his Psycannon and a raider with incubi and fails to do anything to it Paladins shoot at another raider with wyches in it and immobilize it which causes it to be wrecked. Wyches pass pinning test.
DE Turn 2 Incubi and wyches move and get out of remaining raiders to setup charge on paladins and inquisitor Rest of army moves and shoots killing all but two paladins Haemonculi fire liquefiers with no real success Incubi charge into inquisitor All three Wyches squads and Haemonculi charge paladins and link the combat with the inquisitor Archon huskblades inquisitor to death and traps his soul, incubi can’t attack =( Wyches kill off another paladin and put two more wounds on Draigo Draigo & Paladins strike back killing 1 wych DE win combat by 5, no resulting unsaved from no retreat were inflicted. DE wrap in
GK Turn 2 Brian rolls psychic communion and fails Reserve rolls bring 1 dread and strike squad on Brian concedes the game
Lessons Learned: Liquefiers on the Haemonculi suck as if the raider moves more than 6 it cannot fire, will switch them to venom blades in future I am not sold on agonizers on the Hexatrixs in this list. Replacing them with venom blades frees up 45pts but I am not sure where to use them
