Location: Michigan
Objective: Annihilation
Deployment: Spearhead

Black Templar’s win the roll for first turn and elect to go first.

Deployment:
Black Templar’s deploy a Crusader squad with a Lascannon and Plasma Gun in some trees near the corner of their deployment zone. A Marshall is deployed with a blob of Initiates and Neophytes as close to the center as possible. A squad of seven Assault Terminators with the Emperor’s Champion is deployed inside a Blessed Hull Land Raider Crusader. Two Land Speeder Typhoons and another blob squad are left in reserve.

Dark Eldar deploy two squads of Warriors with Dark Lances, one in some trees and the other in a building. A Ravager is deployed behind one of the squads. Three squads of Wyches in Raiders, Asdrubael Vect with Incubi in a Raider, and two Razorwing Jetfighters are held in reserve.

A five is rolled on the combat drugs table granting an extra attack to the Wyches.
Dark Eldar do not attempt to Steal the Initiative. Vect disapproves of this.

Turn One:
The Land Raider moves up 12” to the right of the center.
The Marshall led blob squad moves up to left of the center.
The Crusader opens up its Assault Cannon on a squad of Warriors killing one.
The blob squad runs toward the Warriors.

The Ravager moves 12” to the left and shoots it’s Dark Lances into the blob squad vaporizing two Neophytes.
Both Warrior quads pump their weapons into the blob squad killing a few more Space Marines.
The Templar pass their leadership test and move 6” towards the Ravager.

Turn Two:
The second blob squad arrives from reserves and walks on the right side of the Templar’s board edge.

The Crusader continues its move around the center of the board.
The Marshall’s squad, again, moves towards the Warriors in the trees.
The Land Raider opens up its weapons, this time at both Warrior squads. The squad in the building goes to ground and loses one Kabalite while the squad in the trees loses a few more Warriors.
The Crusader squad in the trees fires its Lascannon at the Ravager scoring a penetrating hit but its Flickerfield dissipates the shot.
The Marshalls blob shoots at the Warriors in the trees and does nothing.
The newly arrived blob runs towards the Warriors in the building.

All three squads of Wyches and a Razorwing Jetfighter arrive from reserve.
Two squads of Wyches move to intercept the Marshalls squad while the third squad moves flat out towards the Crusaders in the trees.
The Razorwing moves up the right side of the board and trains its weapons at the blob running up the board.
Two squads of Wyches jump from their Raiders and ready themselves for combat.
The Ravager continues to move up the left of the board in support of the third squad of Wyches.
The Warriors in the trees, two Raiders, and the Ravager shoot at the Marshalls blob killing a few more servants of the Emperor.
The Razorwing fires at the second blob and almost cuts the squad in half. Again the Templars pass their leadership test and move towards the Warriors in the building.

The Wyches fleet and assault the Marshall and his squad. The combat is brutal but the Wyches manage to win combat by one and hold the blob in place.

Turn Three:
One Land Speeder Typhoon arrives from reserve and moves up towards the Ravager and the Raider.
Lumbering up the field the Crusader disgorges it’s cargo of seven Assault Terminators with the Emperors Champion.
Again, the second blob moves towards the Warriors in the building.
More shooting from the LRC wipes out the Warriors in the trees, leaving the Terminators without anything to fight.
Newly arrived to the battle the Land Speeder shoots at the Raider but only manages to stun it.
A Lascannon from the trees shoots at the Ravager but again its Flickerfield says no.
Fighting continues near the center where the Wyches continue to grind down the blob winning combat again.

Vect with his Incubi arrive from reserve and move toward Terminators. HERE COMES THE JUDGE!

Yet more Wyches pile out of their Raider and begin moving towards that pesky Lascannon.
The Razorwing moves to the left to help soften up the Terminators.
Three Raiders, the remaining squad of Warriors, and the Razorwing shoot at the Terminators killing only two.
Three Dark Lances are pumped into the Land Speeder causing it to explode spectacularly.
Vect and his Incubi slam into the Terminators. The Emperor’s Champion moves over to face the Overlord of Commoragh himself and is promptly dismissed. The Incubi and Terminators slug it out forcing the combat to a draw.
Wyches launch themselves into the Crusaders in the trees reducing the squad to only a few Marines who fail to inflict any damage in return.
Greatly outnumbered, the Marshall and his blob are defeated by the mob of Wyches. One squad moves into cover while the other moves up behind a building in the center of the board.

Turn Four:
The remaining Land Speeder remains in reserve.

The Land Raider, trying to reposition itself, gets hung up on some trees facing the wrong way.
Plodding along, the remaining blob moves towards the Warriors in the building.
With the Land Raider immobilized it wrecks the only Raider it can see.
The combat in the trees ends with the Wyches finishing off the remaining two Crusaders.
Vect and his Incubi continue to fight against the Sword Brethren and while Vect remains unscathed the final incubi was brought down by a Thunder Hammer, leaving Vect alone against two Terminators.

The last Razorwing arrives from reserve and moves up the right side of the board, while the other Jetfighter positions itself to help punish that blob of Marines.
Two squads of Wyches are hop back in their Raiders and, along with the Ravager, begin to move towards the remaining blob squad.
With seven units available to deal with the final blob of Marines they are reduced to a handful of battle brothers who then fail their Leadership test and run away.
The remaining squad of Wyches moves toward the combat between Vect and the Terminators.
With a good fleet move the Wyches join their master and quickly finish off the Terminators.

Turn Five:
The Land Speeder finally arrives from reserve and moves up to shoot at Vect and his now Fearless squad of Wyches.
The remaining marines rally and move up.
Still able shoot, the Crusader aims its Assault Cannon at the Ravager but fails to damage its armor.

All of the Dark Eldar units move to the left hand side of the board to continue their evilness.
The Razorwings and Warriors punish the blob reducing them to three men who, again, fail their leadership test and run away.
The combined might of the Dark Eldar could only blow off the Typhoon Missile Launcher and stun the Speeder.
Vect removes the Multi-Melta from the Land Raider with a well placed haywire Grenade.

Roll for turn six is a four.

Turn Six:
Trying to hang on the Crusaders move into some ruins and will attempt to hold their ground.

The Dark Eldar continue to move towards the remnants of the Black Templar force.
That Land Speeder just refuses to go down and is only stunned by the Dark Eldar weaponry
The Crusaders aren’t so lucky and are destroyed by a Razorwing.

Roll for turn seven is a three. Game Over.

Dark Eldar win 7 to 3.

It was me.
Those fighters the Dark Eldar get are pretty nasty.
