GGGGGGAAAAAAAAAHHHHH YES YES YES!!! LOL, sorry there. I just haven't seen a tourament in a while in the Michigan area, much less one from the Barn! I just about killed myself when the last one was cancelled! Count on me being there, and at least four of my friends. I'm a little better than I was at the LAST Barn tournament, and I hope to test out my new, only slightly terrible skills.
Also, are scratches allowed? And for WYSIWYG, is it very, very strict? Like no meltabombs unless visible? ;)

What exactly do you mean by 'scratches'? If you simply mean that some of the paint has been scratched off of some of your models then that should be fine. Battle Damage happens ;)

I know that it had been discussed that this was to be the conclusion of the escalation league we're running now. At the time we had talked about the painting award being only eligible for participants of the league. Is that still the plan or is the painting competition now going to be open to all participants?

My plan is to have two separate awards for painting. Jarvis will be supplying an additional $25 gift certificate for the best painted of the escalation league participants. I am planning, however, on offering some additional prize for a tournament wide player's choice winner. I'm not sure exactly on what that will be, but I want to offer some form of reward for the individual who everyone believes has the best looking army.

@ted234521 For the most part, yes all wargear should be modeled on unit/vehicle/etc... I'll take a look at meltabombs, as I know many rule them as a sort of grenade and thus do not need to be modeled. I'll let you know for sure sometime later this week on what I decide.

Sweet, I will probably be able to get a day off at work (I don't have a shift but I have to watch kids on kids days) but I will do everything humanly possible to be there and get my face punched in!

Soory for the late reply, but what I meant by scratches are scratch builds. Quite a few of my ICs are scratched, and I would like to be able to use them.

I think we had discussed this in an email before the last tournament Teddy. As long as they are modeled with the appropriate wargear, and are aproximetly the same size as the model they are replacing, I see no problem for someone to use their own scratch builds.

Also on melta bombs, I'm going to say that they need not be modeled, as they are listed as a type of grenade and grenades have never needed to be modeled before. All other types of wargear should be WYSIWYG however.

So I have here, for everyone's perusal, the final rules and missions for our upcoming tournament.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7zn0E ... U4NmY1Mjc5

I've decided to change things up a little bit. Instead of using battle points, I am going to try and utilize a Win/Loss system instead. Hopefully, considering it's the first time using such a system, it doesn't blow up in my face. It is fairly similar to the NOVA format, which is why I will be using NOVA style missions for this as well.

There are still available spots, so feel free to contact me if you'd like to come out and participate.

For anyone who hasn't played these kinds of missions before, a few of us at the Barn have been trying them out lately and they are really quite fun and balanced. If anyone wants to try to get in some practice games running these missions just let me know. You can even face the exact army I'll be bringing to the tournament!

The missions look pretty epic as well as balanced. Never played anything like it. But seeing as they're objective-based, looks like I'll have to spam razors and tactical squads. Or maybe Kantor; I am very fond of my sternguards!

Considering the bonus to scoring units in the table quarters mission I think that Kantor and Sternguard could be a very good build for these style missions Ted.

Here is the current list of signups:

Teddy
Eric
Christian
Josh
Brett
Jim
Alex Bessinger
Nathan
Charlie
Nate
Steve Schlegel
Tim Hamel
Yancy Small
Chad B
Mike Williams

That puts us at 15 people so far signed up for the event. While I'd love to host 20, I think realistically we can do 16 comfortably considering the table/terrain we have access too. If your name isn't on the list and you want to participate, let me know soon. While I may be able to push it to 20, I don't know that I can make any guarantees once we have 16 signed up.

Odd I seemed to remember signing up. Either way it doesn't matter. I don't have the $10 to participate right now anyway.

Not at all. As long as your tervigon is different looking enough from a regular carnifex, you'll be good to go. I always enjoy seeing great conversions and scratch builds on the board.

Just a heads up to everyone. I will be altering the missions slightly for the tournament this weekend. Based on some feedback and playtesting, the killpoint requirement to win that objective will be reduced to winning by 2 killpoints rather than 3.

The tournament packet will reflect this change at the event itself, but the currently uploaded one will not. If you have questions about this, feel free to ask.

So... super random question of the day:

Since I'm bringing a few Rhinos, would anyone be opposed if I brought relatively Rhino sized "Wrecked - Explodes!" markers with me to use (for the unfortunate times when my Rhinos pop.) Or should I just use whatever is there at the tournament?

Go right ahead! Jeff made up some really awesome wrecked craters that everyone uses at the barn. I'm all for actual terrain to show where a vehicle has left craters and such.
